as the old sun walks the earth.

sky dark as oil.
days slippery as wet grass.
time a downward slide.

can we just pretend
that people don’t navel gaze.
or stay small minded.
gray schmear
smeared gray like cement.
the world outside is grayscale.
cheap simulation.
raising dawn
the good morning bird
raises cain with its sing song.
and all hell breaks loose.
running man
the hamster running.
he’s always running faster.
the wheel never stops.
