on my way to you
militant life stopped me cold.
suffered for silence.

all hunger’s flavors
gnaw at the complete body.
the soul is starving.

infantile adults
whiny wordy chattering.
bent babbling baboons.

i’m green with envy.
i’m gluttonous for all plants.
keep blood off my plate.

ethically challenged
by the many dilemmas
of living a life.

the thrumming pure heart
within cages white of fur
seeks tender kindness.
