night’s breath cold on cheek
though its summer heart is warm.
my soul discontent.
Haikus
feeding fatty
many poor fingers
breaking backs picking apples.
so fat bellies grow.
wind blows
the chill cuts right through
papery thin onion skin.
north wind blowing hard.
rubber stamps
six weeks a long time
that comes and goes in a flash.
our rubbery time.
wolfish winter
doddering summer
stumbling towards winter’s charms.
wolf in sheep’s clothing.
wrinkled maps
the skin all crumpled.
a body long worn by years.
a road map of love.
