to entertain kids.

shiver under wet blankets
and watery suns.
shepherds shivering
a kind word
warmer than wool.
in sheep’s clothing.
black scab
deep black sky
pricked and bleeding.
shards of glass.
ruddy nose
a season of joy
amongst impatient anger.
black boots and red clothes.
disjointed limbs
broken limb and bark
bent in winter’s stark cold light.
