dog days are over
now that summer’s all packed up.
but where did it go.
Haikus
wrinkles of time
my body is old
where is this skin’s wonderland?
tucked inside wrinkles?
losing sleep
in the quiet night
the nightingale sleeps heavy.
dreaming of lost love.
chopping syllables
your voice carries far.
further when wrapped in love’s light.
splitting the darkness.
rheumy
in the folded night
the moon shines with yellow light.
dingy rooms outside.
son shine
morning is blackest
when the songbird will not sing.
who wakes our bright son?
