the lies that men tell
sound like the truth to deaf ears.
while the truth whispers.
furry socks
the patter of feet
with socks only halfway up.
stalking rug bunnies.
brittle life
life’s young frond unfurls
and stiffens with ticking time.
the end so brittle.
little to none
with very little
one can enjoy much that’s free.
until it runs out.
